Project Description: |
|
The project consists of,
but is not limited to the design, finance, installation, ownership, and
operation and maintenance of a district-wide solar photovoltaic electric
generating system that shall produce a minimum of 500 kilowatts at
specific facilities and available grounds at District locations and to
sell the Systems’ electrical output to the Southampton Township Public
School District. The Bidder shall provide electricity to the District at a
reduced rate, through a 15 year Power Purchase Agreement utilizing Solar
Renewable Energy Certificates (SRECs), federal income tax credits, and
other incentives provided through the New Jersey Board of Public
Utilities. Project commencement after award of the Contract must not be
contingent on securing SREC contracts by the Bidder. |

The Notice of Award shall be issued on or about Wednesday, 23 November
2011. Execution of the PPA shall be completed on or before Monday, 12
December 2011. Construction shall begin prior to 31 December 2011. (In
order to qualify for the Federal Tax Incentive Grant Program 1603, a
system must begin construction by the end of the year. A project is deemed
to have begun construction based on the Program’s “5% safe harbor” rule,
which requires at least 5% of the total cost of the property or system to
be paid by 31 December 2011). Work shall begin within 30 calendar days
after the PPA has been executed and the System shall be completed,
inspected, approved by the NJBPU, and notice of connection given to the
Local Utility within 250 calendar days from the date established in the
Notice of Award. |
