ABCO Federal Credit Union

Browns Mills, NJ

In order to respond to their growing regional membership, ABCO needed a location in Pemberton Township. They hired RYEBREAD Architects to design an efficient, convenient, and attractive branch, one that would enhance the economic base and streetscape of downtown Browns Mills.

Designed to fit a whole lot of use into a 695 SF floor plan, the ABCO Browns Mills branch includes staff & member parking, a small lobby, drive-through lanes, ATM, office, and support spaces. From the outside, the building looks larger than it is. That is due to its classical details and proportions. It was carefully designed as a small temple, with tall vertical windows placed at a regular spacing in the brick around the building. Drive-through and entry canopies cast deep shadows on the façade.

The branch was configured to enhance security: clear sight lines, use of bulletproof glass, high-tech locks & hardware, and CCTV. RYEBREAD employed the principles of CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design).

The ABCO Browns Mills branch has been a success for their Members, Staff, and Administration. The number of visits grows every month, including those switching from neighboring financial institutions.
