Manheim Auto Auction

Newburgh, NY

After a series of successful projects for Manheim Auto Auction’s location in South Jersey, in 2000 RYEBREAD Architects became Architect-of-Record for their 93 corporate locations nation-wide. A series of expansion projects followed, located in Newburgh, NY; Columbus, OH; Chicago, IL; and Phoenix, AZ. We designed auto auction facilities, and the many ancillary outbuildings, such as check-in, digital imaging, body shops, car washes, cafeterias, and office support.

In Newburgh, RYEBREAD Architects was responsible for a new 68,000 SF car auction and all the related structures, working under Bowser Construction in a design/build relationship. This was newly-built facility, with 14 auction lanes, enabling them to handle over 4000 customers/transactions in a single day. Our services included architecture, interiors, and graphics. Thus, the project benefited from a consistent overall theming, one that included all architecture, exterior & interior signage, and furnishings/fittings.

This national contract became the springboard for the partners of RYEBREAD Architects to get registered in states beyond New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland. We are now also licensed architects in Ohio, Illinois, Florida, Louisiana, and Arizona, as well as licensed planners and interior designers in New Jersey. Angelo Butera is a LEED Accredited professional.
